Omaha looks to extend their winning streak on the road in Wichita

RALSTON NE. The Omaha Beef (5-1) go on the road to face the Wichita Force (2-6) in Kansas, this Saturday May 18th at 7:05 p.m., in a battle of two northern division Champions Indoor Football foes. These two teams played back in week three in Omaha, where the Beef won 44-21.

Omaha is currently on a four-game winning streak that started against Wichita. In the first matchup, the Beef secondary locked down the passing game of the Force. They only allowed 146-yards and forced five interceptions. Defensive Backs Chris Perry and Trey Dudley-Giles had two interceptions a piece, along with touchdown returns. The Beef defense will look to continue their high intensity defensive play against Wichita. Omaha’s defense gives up the least amount of points per game in the CIF (35.2).

The Force did a solid job slowing down the Beef running attack. Omaha was held to under 100-yards the only time this season against Wichita. Since then, quarterback Derrick Bernard has been added to the team and Calvin Phillips has emerged in the run game. Last game against Oklahoma, he had his breakout game of the season rushing for a team high 56-yards and one touchdown. Phillips, along with Running Back Antonio Bray, are helping Omaha to lead the CIF in rushing yards (140-yards per game), and average per attempt (4.9). Bray also currently leads the CIF among rushing leaders (68.8-yards per game).

Join the Omaha Beef fans for the official road game watch party at Ozzy’s Roadhouse (12744 Westport Pkwy, LaVista) on Saturday starting at 7pm. The Beef party room will be open to the public and you can even win prizes at the event.
